Developed by Multiple International in partnership with 7Fingers and Artists In Motion, this impressive production ran daily for 5 days from 23rd – 27th April as the grand opening of the yearlong celebrations to follow in recognition of the prestigious UNESCO title ‘World Book Capital City for 2019’this UAE city has received for its cultural achievements.
This extraordinary show beautifully brought together actors, gymnasts, innovators, storytellers, and technologists –resulting in a production that truly captured the imagination of the audience from start to finish. Not only were the audience able to experience the live performance in three languages, but also have the privilege of listening to a 51-piece live orchestra, creating a spectacular soundtrack for the stunning visuals on stage.
Creative Technology were proud to work on this once in a lifetime event, in collaboration with
VYV, supplying; 18 Panasonic PT-RZ31 projectors, signal engineering, HDSDI over fibre-optic signal distribution to cater for the long distance needed for this large-scale event, and 4 Antrica PTZ cameras for the automation operator, enabling them to ensure safe operation of the central stage cube throughout the production.
A further 3 Antrica PTZ cameras provided additional stage management CCTV views. Areas of the stage which were projected onto include: the stage proscenium arch, central stage cube, and the upstage and wing masking legs. Projecting onto multiple areas of the stage created a dynamic set design and the visually engaging content displayed helped give the stage depth.
It was great to once again work with the talented VYV who supplied fully automated 3D camera calibration of the projectors, tracking cameras, Realtime mapping of the central cube and tree on the stage, and moving lighting tracking 21 of the performers. Anthony Bezencon, Director of VYV commented, “Once again VYV and Creative Technology's partnership proved successful at delivering a world-class large scale outdoor event. Stuart Young and his team did a great job keeping everything on track even when the rain tried to stop us! VYV's proven tracking and projections technologies, along with Creative Technology's skills helped ensure this was a ground-breaking show.”
“Working with Multiple International is always a pleasure. We’ve worked together previously on numerous events worldwide, including the opening event back in 2014 at this very amphitheatre which is built on an island in the Khalid lake in central Sharjah. With stunning quality content from Artists In Motion and working with 7Fingers for the first time, we were able to once again deliver the expected quality of service with suitable support available from production as and when it was required.” – Stuart Young, Senior Project Manager at Creative Technology.
