BROADCAST PROJECT MANAGER – MELBOURNE

THE ROLE

A Project Manager’s primary role is to develop, maintain and grow both internal and client relationships in our business. The Project Manager must have an exceptional understanding of the technologies used and the planning and coordination of our Broadcast productions.

You will be responsible for managing critical projects in consultation with the Broadcast Operations Manager and Operations departments locally and interstate. You will ensure the scope, objectives, feasibility, and performance criteria are all met. You will need to develop schedules and staffing requirements to meet the expectations of the client and our business and determine the resources of time, money, and equipment required for the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret clients’ technical needs and specify project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with our clients.
  • Coordinate crewing and logistical requirements in liaison with the Operations team to ensure efficiency in delivering all projects you are responsible for.
  • Be a reliable conduit between the Technical Crew, Operations, and Management.
  • Oversee and delivery of projects at venues and outside broadcasts.
  • Understand and develop the processes involved in delivering our events.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Broadcast Operations, manage project quoting and invoicing.
  • Contribute feedback and assist in the technical team’s development of new skills and performance.
  • Maintain detailed reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market technologies and keep abreast of new and innovative products
  • Attend industry and client functions
  • Collaborate with senior management to prepare sales and tender information.
  • Establish and maintain a strong relationship with our Broadcast clients.
  • Ensure all Work Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, be actively involved in the consultation and communication of WHS procedures, and when required, conduct incident investigations.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Proven experience in a Project Management role within the Broadcast or Events industry.
  • Proficient in using Rental Management Systems – ideally R2
  • Outstanding team leadership skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clientele and compile the required event production documentation.
  • Superior skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant Work Health and Safety practices and legislation.
  • Clear thinking and calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Australia.

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Qualification in Television Broadcasting discipline.
  • Capability in drawing floorplans and schematics using Vector works or AutoCAD
  • Experience in investigating incidents and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Knowledgeable in venue and facilities management practices.
