Hampton Court Music Festival

Hampton Court Music Festival is a live music festival held in June at the iconic Hampton Court Palace. Creative Technology (CT) has provided audio services to the event since 2012.

The CT team work closely with Production Manager, Jonny Gaskell, to ensure the delivery of a somewhat challenging show due to noise level restrictions in place in and around the venue. This is due to both the proximity of residential housing and the care that must be taken to avoid vibration damage to the 500-year-old structure. Keeping both the visiting Artists and their Audio Engineers satisfied with sound levels in the palace court is a delicate juggling act. d&b ArrayCalc is utilised to great effect to give CT an accurate prediction of SPL in the Great Court and offsite.

The audio system deployed to achieve this comprises of d&b V-Series line array, d&b V7P out-fills, and V10P centre fill. The d&b E8 front fills and d&b Ci80 delays all run on d&b D80 and D20 amplifiers. Onstage d&b M4 monitors and d&b V subwoofers are utilised for artist monitoring. Yamaha desks are used at monitors and FOH onstage we have Shure and Sennheiser wireless microphones and IEMs.

CT have worked with many artists over the years at Hampton Court Music Festival, the event has hosted the likes of Tom Jones, Gary Barlow, The Beach Boys, Kylie Minogue, and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

In addition to providing the audio system to the festival, CT also deliver the audio production advance direct with the incoming artists management to ensure the smooth running of the show.
