CT Showcase New and Emerging Technology at CTFest19
09 May, 2019
Last week, Creative Technology were thrilled to once again open the doors of our UK Headquarters for the second year running to put on CTFest19.
From Tuesday 30th April to Thursday 2nd May, clients were invited to London Gatwick and given the unique opportunity to venture behind the scenes of our office and warehouse to get a backstage view and greater understanding of the evolution of live event technology.
Welcomed by an integrated and immersive main stage show, visitors could then spend their day discovering a number of new and emerging technologies including an augmented reality studio environment in collaboration with VYV, a stunning new LED/HDR end-to-end demo using Brompton processing, an 8K camera system by Panasonic as well as various other demonstrations from the Creative Technology team and our industry leading Innovation Partners: Potion Pictures, Showtex, TSL, Take4D, Unusual Rigging. It was also great to be joined by group companies, BSI, NEP Connect, and NEP Media Solutions. With support also given by AV Stumfl, Broadcast RF, Green Voltage, and Pixilabs, and not forgetting Global Infusion Group who provided sensational catering for the event.
Following a hugely successful event in 2018, there was a strong ambition to not only significantly grow the event in size and scale, but to involve a key group of industry experts to demonstrate how we can work together to create truly spectacular and engaging live events. 2019 also saw the introduction of live panel sessions which took place each afternoon. Hosted by AV Magazine, these debates presented a great opportunity for both spectators in the room and anyone watching the live stream to gain industry leading insight with discussions covering a multitude of topics.
As expected, the integrated and immersive main stage show was a focal point for many, utilising the pool of talent within Creative Technology and our Innovation Partner companies we brought together many elements including, curved LED screens, LED flooring, d&b soundscape, projection, lighting, and even robots to really bring to life the interactive content. The immersive studio environment was another highlight, demonstrating the step forward from green screen technology, giving visitors the chance to experience how gaming, tracking, camera, and LED technology can work in unison to merge a real and virtual space.
For the second year running, we dedicated the Friday of our Festival of Technology specifically to students, giving a group of young and aspiring people a hands-on opportunity to discover the emerging technologies used in live events as well as learning more about the career options within the industry, with invaluable presentations from key members of staff including CEO of Creative Technology Europe and Middle East, Dave Crump.
We’d like to publicly thank all our partners who were involved in CTFest19 – all your investment, hard work, and dedication to the event was greatly appreciated. As always, an event like this would not be possible without our clients, so we would also like to thank everyone who attended. If you couldn’t make it this year, be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels for video footage of the event coming very soon and we hope to see you next year at CTFest20.
