CT Return to X Factor Live Shows
After a year away, Creative Technology (CT) returned to X Factor for the start of the singing competition’s famous live shows.
This year, the first live show saw the return of X Factor 2012 winner, James Arthur, who performed his brand new single and current chart topper, ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.
Working for SYCO Entertainment under the project management of Kenny Underwood from Cheeky Rascal Productions, CT provided nine Panasonic RZ-970 projectors to create the backdrop for the singer’s performance.
The challenge of this project was the short time-frame in which the equipment had to be rolled on to the stage and aligned so that the projection hit each of the upstage gauze strips seamlessly. All this preparation had to be completed within the show’s advertisement break, giving the CT team a little under three minutes to ensure everything was perfectly positioned.
The content was provided by SYCO, creating a mix of lens flares as well as a camera capture of James Arthur as he performed live onstage which was fed via one of the cameras within Fountain Studios. Dataton’s Watchout server provided the playback for this multi-display projection.
James Arthur’s show was a success with millions tuning in to watch the first in a number of live shows as this year’s X Factor contestants battle it out to be crowned the next big-thing in music.
