International Day of Education – Graduate Training Programme
Today, the 24th of January, is International Day of Education. In September 2021, CT & NEP Ireland officially launched a new Graduate Training Programme offering graduates the opportunity to learn real-world, live production skills across multiple disciplines in CT and NEP including vision and audio operations, technical maintenance, rigging, and associated skills.
The drive behind the creation of this 2-year programme, was to provide graduates with the opportunity to further their AV education in an immersive environment, while also actively working to complete a number of industry certification courses, so that they will be fully prepared and confident to enter the AV industry.
John Roche, Managing Director of CT Ireland, commented, “2021 saw CT & NEP Ireland commence our first joint Graduate program with the creation of eight paid graduate positions.
We have just completed the first four months of this two-year work experience & education programme. The feedback so far has been fantastic from the graduates and their mentors. We have eight very talented graduates, and our hope is that 2022 will see them progress even further.
I have no doubt that this programme will continue over the coming years, and I want to thank the team at CT Ireland and NEP Ireland for their incredible support and enthusiasm for this new venture. It is a true investment in the future.”
One of the graduates, Anisha-Cheyenne Rice, while talking with Justin Dawson on ‘All Things TechIE’ Podcast shared her experience so far with this programme, including the sections of this industry that she has already got to experience and learn from, as well as the support she has been provided; “I know that whoever’s there will show me what’s going on, no matter what that is…. Everyone is so kind with their time and very willing to teach us, and that’s been across the board”
