Global Virtual Holiday Party
Creative Technology (CT) Ireland were delighted to be involved in helping their client Verve – The Live Agency with a Global Virtual Holiday Party.
Broadcast to thousands of employees of a large tech company across the world from Dublin’s RDS, the virtual event was held across 2 x days and broadcast to 5 x different time-zones. CT Ireland provided a large 20m x 5m curved screen, driven from two disguise gx 2c servers, 5 x Sony Broadcast cameras including an 8m jib camera. CT Ireland’s creative department were also on hand to capture any pre-recorded footage of performers and edit the footage for quick turnaround.
CT also provided encoding and streaming CDN servers capable of hosting thousands of viewers no matter where they were located around the world. Redundancy was key to the project and multiple backup scenarios were built into the project wiring schematic.
The online audience followed Captain Fairweather and Lady Marjorie as they brought them on a cruise around world stopping in a virtual Sydney Harbour, New York and London whilst being treated to various artistic performances and interactive workshops throughout the journey.
Project Manager, Tony Lanigan, describes how the technical solution for this ambitious project had to be turned around very quickly, “When approached by our client I assumed initially we were discussing a project with 3 months lead time, not 3 weeks! Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our technical team in the pre-production stages and the planning we were able to deliver a very well-produced product for our client”.
Verve’s Head of Events, Barry Muldowney, commented “Creating a highly theatrical and technically challenging show in such a short time frame is difficult at the best of times but during a pandemic with Government restrictions it is exponentially harder but something I knew CT were capable of delivering for Verve and our client, which they did”.
