Bringing the Industry of Today and Tomorrow Together at CTFest22
Last week, April 26-28, Creative Technology (CT) welcomed clients, partners, manufacturers, and students into our headquarters in London Gatwick for three days of exciting technology demonstrations, interactive showcases and long overdue networking along with learning opportunities for industry professionals and newcomers alike.
CT were joined by some of the industry’s leading companies who gave up their time and resources to meet many of our valued clients and the industry of ‘tomorrow’, talking through their solutions as well as speaking encouragingly about the many career options available to young and aspiring students keen to enter the live events industry.
To further put emphasis on the importance of bringing young talent into the industry, CT worked closely with several places of education ahead of CTFest22 to prepare the invited students for the event, mentoring them on their soft skills as well as advising them on the unique and valuable opportunities that would be open to them. As part of conneCT, Creative Technology’s global initiative to facilitate education, collaboration, and innovation for the events and technical solutions industry, several sessions were available to students across the three days enabling them to meet the industry and get hands-on with equipment. There was also mass speed-networking each afternoon which saw everyone coming together for one-to-one time with the students, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for valuable introductions to take place with the exciting prospect of job opportunities to follow.
As well as the event naturally having a huge focus on technology and education, this year CT were also pleased to have Event Cycle involved, hosting a diverse sustainability-focused roundtable each day to discuss some of the pressing issues faced in today’s world and the potential routes to working towards solutions in the future. It was fantastic to not only have the opinions of those with experience in the industry but also inviting students on stage as part of the panels to share their thoughts and viewpoints as new people entering our world.
“CTFest22 was a huge success and the feedback so far from everyone involved has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to be involved and for coming along so openly and welcoming to the industry of ‘tomorrow’. We hope to see you all back next year and perhaps some returning ex-students then in full time employment!” – Mark Elliott, Managing Director at Creative Technology UK.
